深い漆黒の空間に、力強く蠢く龍の姿を立ち上げた「黒龍」は、UNDULATIONのDRAGONシリーズにおいて、存在感と躍動感を極限まで追求した作品です。画面に重ねた赤とダークシルバーの塗膜は、龍の息吹によって大気そのものが震えているかのような、強い緊張と迫力を生み出しています。赤は情熱と生命力を、ダークシルバーは重厚さと金属的な鋭さを担い、漆黒の空間の中に潜む龍の神秘性と力強さを際立たせています。
私がこの作品に求めたのは、龍の姿を具体的に描写することではありません。闇の奥に潜んでいた巨大な生命が、いままさに動き始め、立ち上がろうとする瞬間の気配を、色彩と塗膜の動きによって可視化することです。
空間に置かれた「黒龍」は、静寂を保ちながらも、見る者の視線を強く引き寄せます。力強さと美しさ、静寂と情熱という相反する要素を一つの画面に共存させ、私の内奥に生起する緊張と衝動を、龍という存在を通して構造化した作品です。
Black Dragon M30
“Black Dragon” depicts the powerful emergence of a dragon writhing within a profoundly dark space. Within UNDULATION’s DRAGON series, this work represents an extreme pursuit of presence, tension, and dynamic movement.
The layers of red and dark silver paint generate an intense sense of tension and force, as though the dragon’s breath itself were causing the surrounding atmosphere to tremble. Red embodies passion and vital energy, while dark silver conveys weight, density, and a metallic sharpness. Together, they heighten the mystery and power of the dragon concealed within the depths of the blackness.
What I sought in this work was not the literal depiction of a dragon. Rather, through the movement of colour and layered paint, I wanted to make visible the presence of an immense life force hidden deep within the darkness—the precise moment at which it begins to stir and rise.
When placed within a space, “Black Dragon” maintains a profound stillness while exerting a powerful pull on the viewer’s gaze. Strength and beauty, silence and passion—these opposing qualities coexist within a single pictorial field. Through the figure of the dragon, the work gives structure to the tension and impulse that arise from within me.
