Nine Lives
This work, made of cedar wood painted silver using a special technique, is derived from the English proverb, "A cat has nine lives," which means "a cat is stubborn and will come back to life again and again. In other words, as the saying goes, even if a cat encounters unexpected and difficult situations, it never gives up. The nine silver cedar trees that resemble cats symbolize the positive and strong spirit of a cat, which, like a cat, makes full use of its sharp five senses, flexible and free thinking, and overcomes its circumstances.
