UNDULATION : LAW AND MOON OBJECTS
On 6/19/2023, I lost my boy cat named Hou to malignant lymphoma. I love cats, and until then I had lived with 6 cats including Hou (one more cat left in November 2023, so now I have 4 cats). After several days of various tests, it was confirmed that he had malignant lymphoma. I will never forget the feeling and the indescribable emotions that welled up inside me when I stroked his belly and back and could touch his kidneys, which had grown so large and hard and lumpy that I was surprised. There was a time when I was hopeful about the anti-cancer treatment, but then my anemia got so bad that I could not undergo the entire anti-cancer treatment schedule. I still can't believe that he was struck by such a disease, because he was smart, kind-hearted, and above all, a playful genius full of energy.
Hou lived only 2 years, 1 month, and 13 days. I felt pity for Hoh when I thought that he would have had many more fun things to do and many more delicious foods to eat, and every day after that, as a father, I lived in deep sorrow. I think it was about a month after Hou had passed away. Hou came from a breeder in Shizuoka, and I remembered that the breeder had given him his first name, Tsukii-kun. At that time, I was working with tin, so I looked at the lump of tin I had on hand and decided to create a moon object for Hou that would be appropriate for him.
In the extremely hot summer of 2023, I struggled with the tin object alone in my atelier, but on September 16, I finally succeeded in creating the tin moon into a shape that I felt was good enough. On my way home from the studio, I looked up at the night sky and saw a beautiful crescent moon in the same shape as the tin object I had just created. It was also the third anniversary of his death.
