UNDULATION The Chopper
There have been many painters, sculptors, potters, and modern and contemporary artists who have used Harley-Davidson as a campus for their creations. However, in the case of the chopper-style custom Harley that we have named UNDULATION The Chopper, it is just the opposite. This UNDULATION The Chopper is a project that I, Kwaika, the owner of BAD LAND, a custom store specializing in Harley-Davidson, have been working on to bring new values and methods of art to the existing genre and culture of custom Harleys and custom motorcycles, and to establish it as a new art form. I, Kwai Hua, the leader of BAD LAND, have brought new values and methods of art to the existing genre and culture of custom Harleys and custom motorcycles.
UNDULATION The Chopper is produced using the same methods and styling of the long-fork choppers that have been passed down from generation to generation since the 70's. We have certainly incorporated the ideas and techniques we have developed over 25 years of custom production in BAD LAND. However, there is not the slightest element of pretentiousness in this product.
To be honest, at first I could not see the meaning or necessity of applying UNDULATION, which is a truly innovative method of expression, to these traditional chopper style Harleys or custom Harleys in general, but one day, I came to the conclusion that I should overcome the wall of my own obsession and mind without being confused about whether the result was good or bad. I had a chance to apply UNDULATION to the gasoline tank of a Harley Davidson. When I first saw the gas tank with the lines of UNDULATION flowing in all directions, I was able to understand the essence of "what art is. I am not comfortable calling myself an artist, but now that I know what it feels like to cross that line, I would like to pursue the possibilities of custom Harleys with a new stance, bringing in the values of art to the fullest extent without being limited by such a title.
